There are existing two diving bases. For one of it,
"Nero Sport", we found the address in the german Diver's magazine "Taucher".
About the existence of the other one we found out on the spot. None of
them has a house reef, so in order to reach the diving places (situated
mainly on the coast of Skopos) is necessary a small boat trip.
The
"Nero Sport" base is under german leading and is mainly a VDST and CMAS
base, but accepts also other certificates. They offer 3 to 4 dive trips
per day, the earliest one at 8:30 - the latest at 16:00. New for us in
this diving holiday was the surprise element: we knew where we will dive
on the boat taking us there. And there are enough diving places! From about
30 places we have seen 8 of them, difficult to identify on the sea chart
of Zakynthos because they were made known to us under a german name.
Due to the tectonic origin of this part of the
island (Skopos) and the action of the water, every diving place has something
for everyone: reef, caves, caverns, underwater canyons, with depth varying
from 3m to 30m. 
For
example: Bezou with 7 cave in chain, some open- some closed on top, with
depth from 6m to 1m; Marzelous with a reef and a very light drift. Interesting
for Skopos area are the sulphurous and pitch sources. The underwater fauna
and flora is not so rich; you will find perches, sea stars, fire worms,
monch fishes, small spiny lobsters, small crabs, sea hedgehogs, small sponges
and a lot of red anemones. Nevertheless, together with the rocky
underwater formations they offer you an unforgettable diving experience.
