How the city of Athens (Athina in Greek) got it’s name
The mythology says that some 5000 years ago the citizens of a small town in ancient Hellas having nothing to eat asked the help of the gods. They promised that they will name their town after the god or goddess who will help them for ever out of their despair. Two of their important gods competed by giving a present.
